Mini Vinnies

At St John Fisher Catholic Primary School, our Mini Vinnies play an important role in helping us live out our mission:

“We stand united in faith with the courage to build a loving world of truth, justice, peace and wisdom.”

Mini Vinnies is a pupil-led group inspired by the work of the St Vincent de Paul Society (SVP). Guided by Gospel values and Catholic Social Teaching, Mini Vinnies help children put their faith into action through service, compassion and care for others.

The group encourages children to become young leaders who make a positive difference in school, parish and the wider community. Following the example of Jesus, our Mini Vinnies learn that even small acts of kindness can have a big impact.

As Jesus teaches us:

“Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”

What Do Mini Vinnies Do?

Our Mini Vinnies help to promote our Catholic values and support charitable work throughout the year. They encourage our school community to think of others and take action where help is needed.

Mini Vinnies may be involved in:

Supporting school and parish charity events
Leading fundraising activities for local and national causes
Promoting Catholic Social Teaching across the school
Helping others through acts of kindness and service
Supporting prayer and reflection opportunities
Raising awareness of important local and global issues
Encouraging children to care for those who may be vulnerable or in need

Through these opportunities, children develop leadership, confidence, empathy and a deeper understanding of what it means to serve others.
